tips para coser corte princesa!

Hola Amigos, hoy vengo con un tip para coser un estilo corte princesa, mientras trabajaba en un proyecto vogue 9100 de McCall.  Es un hermoso patron que para algunos puede ser intimidante por la maravillosa curva en el pecho que se forma con el corte princesa, pero que en realidad si se usa una buena tecnica, no habria mucho de que preocuparse.

Para empezar el corte princesa esta divido de tres piezas por delante y por detras, teniendo en cuenta que la pieza central siempre se corta doblada.  estas piezas al unirlas forman una curva que salen al cortar el patron por toda la pinza hasta pasar por el pecho y llegar al hombro, algunas solo llegan hasta el pecho. Asi de esta manera, al cortar la pinza y tratar de unir las dos piezas, se dice que el patron no es Flat o plano.

En la siguiente foto les mostrare las piezas de las que hablo:

Aqui podemos observar la pieza #5, es la pieza mas redonda y la que va al costado, y la pieza #1 se corta doblada y es la que va en el centro.  Mi recomendacion es poner la pieza #1 que es la que tiene la linea de costura mas plana y menos redonda debajo de la pieza #5, y estas son mis razones:

1. la pieza #1 estando debajo cerca de los dientes de la maquina, estos dientecitos estiran un poco la tela siempre, asi que es ideal en esta situacion donde muchos patrones tiene una diferencia de 1 cm entre pieza y pieza para darle la forma redonda que encierra el busto.
2. teniendo la piza #5 debajo, es mas facil maniobrar la pieza redonda sin hacer enruches o coser tela por equivocacion, cosa que sucede mucho cuando muchos esta cosiendo las mangas de la blusa o camisa.

Aqui les quiero plasmar una idea de como hacerlo.!

En el anterior video pudimos observar que no podemos coser las dos piezas como una linea derecha, hay que hacer la curva y por eso es facil maniobrarla si esta pieza esta arriba.

En la siguiente foto les mostrare como queda la pieza mia, y observaran un bolsita que se hace en el pecho, es normal y es lo ideal.  Porque? ciertamente este espacio o bolsa es la que abraza el seno, la que le da forma,  si ésta no existiera, se harian unas pequenas lineas en el pecho que querria decir que la tela estaria apretada o sin forma.

tips to work with a princess seam

Hello friends, here I am with another tip while working in my pattern Vogue 9100. It is a beautiful pattern with princess seams that can scared or intimidate some people, so here is one on my tips to make it much easier.

To start, the princess seam is divided in 2 or 3 pieces which 2 sides and one center piece. So the sides pieces are very round, it is not a flat seam so you need to rotate the fabric while sewing and for that you need to put the right piece under the other.

Let see in the next picture the 2 pieces, side piece and center one.

Here you can see much better, the left piece #5 is the side and round one, and the right piece #1 is CF cutted in the fold, notice the piece #1 is more straight than the #5. So to sew this pieces together you need to put the flat #1 under the #5 for some reasons:

1.  When the piece #1 is under the feed dogs of the sewing machine will give some stretch that will help match the round piece. 

2.  It is easier to move or rotate the round piece on the top forming the nice bubble you need to snuggle the breast.

Here there is a nice idea of how to do it!

You will see in my video that you can not sew it straight forward, you will need to rotate the fabric keeping both edges together wit the same seam allowance; and in the picture below you will see in my princess seam a little bubble for the breast? That is right! You want to have it, because it is going to snuggle your breast. It can not be flat or it will look like a cat with whiskers.

Tips para enruchar la tela

Hola amigos, he estado trabajando en un vestido rosa que me gustaria lucir el dia de mi cumpleaños;  Es el patrón de Vogue 9100.

Les recomiendo muchísimo este patrón que es fácil.  Mientras trabajaba en el recogido o enruche de la falda realice diferentes técnicas para esta, entre los que esta subir la tensión de la maquina de coser, también intente de enruchar con la fileteadora, halar los hilos de la bobina pero finalmente  encontré la técnica que mas comoda.

De inmediato les cuento que no la he inventado yo, la escuche una vez en un programa de televisión de Nancy zieman y le he recordado durante el proceso de este vestido.

Primero, veamos una foto para tener una idea mas clara.

Aqui esta, mientras Nancy dice que hagamos un zigzag ancho, yo decidi terminar el borde de mi tela con la fileteadora, a la final siempre quiero evitar que se me deshile la tela.

Ahora la idea es pasar hilo grueso, yo use hilo de bordar, (también puedes usar dos hebras de hilos al mismo tiempo) por debajo del zigzag o del fileteado, y al llegar al final solo debes de tirar del hilo grueso y punto, el recoje o enrucha la tela.

Eso era todo, no hay que buscar el hilo de la bobina y comenzar a jalar con el riesgo de danar tu tela, que si puede suceder en las mas mayoría de las telas; tampoco tienes que estar cambiando la tensión de la maquina o adivinar.

Este es un proceso simple y sin complicaciones, se los recomiendo mucho.

En esta foto puede observer con mayor detalle a que me refiero con pasar el hilo grueso por el fileteado o el zigzag.

Tips for gathering fabric

hi friends, here I am working in a pink dress that I wish to wear for my birthday, it is the pattern from vogue 9100.

I have to tell you that I love it and recomend it, but while having working in the gathering of the skirt, I had to go through several techniques like high tension in the sewing machine, gathering in the serger and finally I got to my favorite.

I didn't  invent it, I  remember Nancy Zieman talked about it in one of her programs and I decided to give it a try.

First, let's see a photo to have a clear picture of the idea.

Here it is, while Nancy says to use a zig zag stitch, I decided to finish the edges of my fabric so it doesn't unravel and in the thread of the lower loop, I pass my orange floss all the way until the end, from end to end and pull the tread. That is right! There is not science about it, but it won't ruin your fabric, you don't have to find the bobbin thread to make the pulling easier and much more, you don't have to struggle. 

This picture is much more close to the concept of my words, and next a picture of the accomplished goal.
